Summer 2010 Well, David, Annette, and Cara are on the road again! We left Monday, June 14th, to start our annual summer festival tour. We start out in Ohio this year. Gebhard Woods Dulcimer Festival near Chicago will be greatly missed this year by a lot of people! David and Cara worked in the dulcimer shop from morning through late evening getting all the dulcimers ready to go. Ask Cara if she likes tuning! David also had to cut and bale the hay so that our girls (the cows) can eat this winter. We made over 40 big round bales this year on the first cutting! Pretty good for our place. We are looking forward to seeing all of our friends at each festival. It's like going to a family reunion at every festival! We have several new fun songs to teach this year. We hope to see you there! The Lindsey family made a trip to Lovington, NM to help some friends, David and La Rae, get married. We took Angie and the grandkids, Reese, Bradley, and Jackson to Carlsbad Caverns after the wedding. We've been there several times, but this was a first for the grandkids. I think it was as much fun taking them there as it was taking our children, maybe more! I have a few pictures of the trip to share with you. Jackson said he would go to the wedding and watch them kiss as long as he got to see the bats fly out of the caverns! We had a fun time. Nothing like starting out with a bang. David was doing our first fill-up as Cara was walking out of the convenience store and noticed gas pouring out of the gas tank of the motorhome. After inspecting "Doc" (you'll have to ask David how he got this name when he started his teaching career in 1972!) decided the gas tank would have to be pulled. So we ended up in Portsmouth, OH staying all night in the dealership parking lot so that the service department could get us in the next morning at 7:00 (that's a.m.!) But we got it fixed and on the road by the next day.
We'll see ya down the road! |
